Our People

Welcome to our whanau (family). Katie is from a small Maori village in Mangatu, Gisborne. Les is from Christchurch and loves Crusaders and Canterbury rugby. We have three adult children and six mokopuna (grand children). Katie is proud of her moko kauae (chin tattoo) which is the right of every Maori woman with whakapapa (genealogy). It acknowledges her existence as a proud Maori woman referencing the whakapapa of both her mother (Tuhoe) and father (Mahaki).

They want to make sure that manuhiri (visitors) are warmly welcomed and feel at home like part of the whanau.  Offering 15 ground floor rooms, walk in showers and king beds, they have something for everyone.
